BIO
Maarten Dillen, born in 1992 in Antwerp, Belgium, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Antwerp. Working across painting, photography, digital art, and printmaking, he is known for combining digital and traditional techniques to create introspective, layered compositions. His painting practice incorporates a range of materials, often grounded in digital studies, while his printmaking draws from his own photographic work. Alongside his artistic practice, he works as a freelance photographer from his studio in Antwerp.
Dillen’s work explores the relationship between internal experience and external reality, shaped by memory, emotion, and observation. Through drawing, photography, painting, and printmaking, he creates visual narratives that occupy the space between perception and imagination. His ongoing project Allostatic Load investigates the long-term, often invisible impact of stress and lived experience on the body. He is currently developing a new series of paintings that continue this exploration.
Maarten Dillen’s work has been presented in a selection of solo and group exhibitions and is part of several private collections. He continues to develop his multidisciplinary practice through independent projects, commissions, and his photography studio.
